Does your dog have allergies? Have you spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars, perhaps even thousands of dollars for your beloved dog on allergy problems and your dog is still terribly uncomfortable? Is he/she still scratching incessantly? Does your little friend still have runny eyes, itchy skin? Does it still sneeze?
Have you subjected your dog to costly and painful blood tests time after time to no avail?
Are you sick of giving him/her the extremely expensive and toxic drugs that every veterinarian you have taken your dog to prescribes and they still do no good for your dog? Have you made the rounds of every vet in your area?
Are you sick of your furry companion still being sick?
Well, relax. You have just found the right place to bring your dog back to health. We don’t recommend drugs, we don’t do blood tests, we don’t do urine tests. We merely recommend common sense and Mother Nature’s herbal bounty to restore your dog’s health, vitality, and happiness based on over 180 cumulative years of experience in dealing with dog health issues.
Allergies appear to be more and more of a diagnosis with the dog population today. Thousands of dogs with everything from runny eyes, a runny nose, sneezing, hot spots, scratching, itching, to the dog scraping its bottom on the floor/ground are all being labeled as allergies.
Why dogs have allergies?
What causes allergies? Twenty or forty years ago, did your dog have allergies? Why are allergies becoming such a problem all of a sudden? Let us jog your memory and get you to thinking too:
Twenty to forty years ago, did you or your parents feed your dog food from a bag? Did you give your dog vaccinations for everything under the sun other than rabies? Did you take your dog on walks in the park? Did you give your dog heartworm drugs? Did you worm him/her with toxic chemicals? Did you spray your lawn with chemicals or apply synthetic fertilizers every spring and fall? Did you have carpet in every room in your house? Did you use lots and lots of chemicals in your home for the cleaning?
If you take a minute and think through the answers to these questions, you will begin to analyze and realize what has changed in our society which is affecting the health and well-being of your loyal little companion.
Not so very long ago, very few people fed their dogs any kind of commercial dog food. Most everyone fed their dogs from the table scraps of leftover fresh food that Mom prepared for the family. Most of us couldn’t afford to buy food for the family pet, so Fido ate right along with the rest of the family. Many of the serious champion dog breeders cooked for their dogs as though they were “persons” sitting at the dining room table.
What did they cook? Fresh meats of all kinds, potatoes, carrots, corn, peas, string beans, sweet potatoes, squash, rice, egg noodles, etc, etc. All of this was mixed with gravy from the drippings of whatever meat was being prepared. These foods were prepared from fresh ingredients and were prepared daily just like for the human members of the family. The pet population not only was healthier, but they also lived longer than dogs do today. Think about why that is. Fresh fresh fresh wholesome nutritional food is absolutely essential for health and vitality for any animal including us humans.
Giving a dog dead food from a bag that may have been sitting in a warehouse for six months or longer can never replace freshly cooked food that you can provide your dog no matter what anyone tells you. Even if the food is “fortified” with vitamins and minerals, it can never approach the same quality of freshly cooked food that comes from your kitchen.
How to treat dog allergies?
Our first recommendation is to cook for your dog and don’t listen to the soothsayers. It will take you about a week to get into the routine, but after that, you will develop a routine that both you and your little friend enjoy together.
What about a raw food diet? Actually, we found our dogs don’t care for raw food, that they prefer their food cooked. We recommend you try both and see what your pet prefers, then go with their wishes. They know what they like.
Being from Iowa and all of us here being born on a farm, we know what goes on in agriculture. When an animal dies on the farm today, the farmer calls the rendering truck to come to pick up the dead, diseased animal. At one time we farmers would drag the dead animal to the edge of a forest, take a knife and cut a small opening, then leave. The coyotes and other wild animals would then feast on this dead creature and feed their young. Nowadays, the farmers call a rendering truck.
What does the rendering truck do with the dead animals? You guessed it. These dead diseased animals go into food for your dog, cats, pets of all kinds and if you can believe it up until a couple of years ago back into feed for other alive livestock just like the British did. Where do the euthanized dogs and cats go? You guessed it again. To the rendering truck and back into other feed for dogs and cats. Now, is it any wonder your dog has allergies?? You definitely need to cook for your dog if you wish to begin to eliminate allergy conditions.
About those vaccinations. Most of us are required by law to vaccinate our dogs for rabies every three years. Lots of us are told by our vets to vaccinate every year “to be safe”. This is NOT necessary. The rabies vaccination lasts for three years and this is what we do. However, the vaccinations STOP RIGHT HERE. We do not nor do we recommend that you vaccinate your beloved little loyal companion for anything else period. We do not believe that putting a foreign substance into our dog’s body is “good” for its body. We believe a very wholesome diet and a very strong immune system will take care of our and your dogs’ health.
In fact, we have case after case of customer’s dogs who have had horrible reactions to vaccination and several dogs have even died. For what? What law is requiring this vaccination? Why do people get terrorized into vaccinating their dogs? It all revolves around money as we all know. If you provide your dog with a good fresh diet and good clean filtered water daily, then you will have a dog that can withstand 99% of any health threats. Don’t put toxins into your dog just because of peer pressure. It is harmful to your dog.
What about heartworm pills? What about tapeworms and other worm drugs? How do these cause allergies? There definitely is a better, non-toxic, and safer way to make sure your dog does not get heartworms. We never use nor recommend anyone use that extremely toxic and extremely dangerous method of preventing heartworms. These chemicals have been known to cause all kinds of allergic reactions to this poison.
When a person sprays their lawn with toxic chemicals and/or synthetic fertilizers, then allows their dog to roam and play on this same now beautiful but dangerous lawn, many many times a dog will have an allergy problem as a result. The toxins get into your little pet’s body through its paws and skin. The liver and kidneys cannot clean their overloaded system. Thus, your dog now appears to have symptoms of allergies.
What about all those chemicals in the house. Can this really affect my dog? Most definitely and you too for that matter. High concentrations of pesticides and all kinds of toxic materials are tracked into our homes by our pets and ourselves. Airborne contaminants, cleaning chemicals and even cooking contaminants from Teflon pans settle on the floors and especially the carpets. Unlike the same compounds that will eventually break down from exposure to sunlight and rain, these indoor pollutants can remain intact for years. This is why it is so dangerous for small children and dogs to be continually exposed to these toxic substances. This is also why a person who has a dog who died of cancer, then gets another dog and that dog will often die of the same type of cancer. These indoor toxins are extremely dangerous to man and animals. First, they appear as allergic symptoms, then tumors may develop, then cancer may be detected, then it is only a matter of time before other serious and often fatal health problems exist.
Allergies are a symptom or signal if you will. Really, allergies can be a blessing. These so-called “allergies” are really a signal that there is something really wrong with your dog’s environment and its internal body. You can now take steps to clean your dog’s body, its living quarters while at the same time cleaning your own home and making it as free as possible of toxic contaminants. Your dog may be saving your life too in many ways–your emotional life, your physical life, and your health.
But, you say, “I don’t have chemicals in my home and I feed my dog an all-natural food and I give it good clean water and it still appears to have an allergy problem. What would you recommend now?”
A true allergy situation can exist particularly if your dog’s immune system is weak. The first thing we would recommend is to build your dog’s immune system. Building the immune system is relatively easy by giving your dog the best nutrition you possibly can; by adding the proper herbs to its diet and by adding the essential digestive enzymes that are so essential for the overall well-being of your loyal companion. The Canine Medicine Chest has these necessary remedies. ProBac Adult contains the essential digestive flora and Systemajuv contains the herbs that help to build the immune system. Click Here for a further discussion about these two remedies.
Different types of allergies
There are food-borne allergies and air-borne allergies. It is relatively easy to check for food-borne allergies. What one can do is cook different meats, different vegetables, and fruits. Stay away from the starches like cereals, pasta, potatoes. Or test these starches one by one to see how your dog reacts. Most of today’s commercial dog food contains corn, soy, wheat, and other grains. These same grains cause allergies in people.
How often have you ever seen a dog eat an ear of corn? Or eat oats in your horse trough? Or eat soybeans in the grainy? A little common sense and knowing what our dog’s ancestors ate will actually tell you what your dog needs to eat.
Our dog’s ancestors ate meats and fish and left-overs from the human’s table. They would eat some grasses to help their digestion once in a while especially if they had a stomach ache, but their primary consumption was meats. Wild rabbits, squirrels, mice even, and other small animals. The first thing they ate from that wild catch was the stomach contents. Now why the stomach contents? Because the stomach contains essential digestive enzymes and every animal knows they need these enzymes if given the chance to find them. Also, the undigested food in the stomach was easy to eat and digest for a hungry dog.
The second thing they ate was the vital organs of their prey–the liver, kidneys, heart, even the brain. The last thing they ate was the muscles on the bones. Of course, all these were raw and were extremely healthy as well as essential for their health and well-being. This is why we give our dogs, liver, heart, kidneys, lungs, etc. when we have a steer processed for our own table. Really early man ate these same organs which help keep humans healthy too.
To sum this up, it is easy for you to test your own dog’s response to food-borne allergies by cooking different ingredients as though your dog is a very special member of your family. A different menu each week followed by your finely tuned powers of observation will help determine if your dog has a food allergy. No expensive stressful tests are necessary. Just a little more effort on your part can and will do the trick.
For airborne allergies, testing for these is much more difficult. Again our first recommendation is to build your pet’s immune system, then go from there. Our second recommendation is to do your own testing of food allergies first, then observe how your dog’s health is from this point.
Third, check your house for toxic chemicals. What toxic cleaning supplies are you using on a regular basis? Could you use chemical-free cleaning products instead? Do you have carpeting that collects airborne contaminants? How long has it been there? Could it be removed without costing a fortune? Could you eliminate these chemicals from your house? Did you recently paint or bring in new furniture or flooring? Many of these are toxic to animals, so you need to be aware of how your dog is feeling and responding to your new additions. Could you get an ozone air cleaner for your house? This will help clear the air?
Once a person is aware that there is something that can be done besides paying out lots and lots of money for testing, then you can actually do something about these airborne allergens yourself. You just need to start thinking about your lifestyle, the products you use in your home and around your pet. Then eliminate as much of the toxicities that are lurking in your home causing damage to both you and your pet. Keep building your dog’s immune system on a regular basis.
You have done everything, but your dog’s allergy condition still persists. Now what? You need to get your dog some relief. It has suffered enough! Now is the time to give your dog our herbal remedy for both food-borne and airborne allergy remedy called Allereze™. This natural herbal remedy has been shown to help the dog that seems to fight allergy problems at certain times of the year.
